Apparently bids from all three and all three rejected. GI Pearson sniffing around again he can go #### himself.

I say reject all bids and let Vaz Te help keep us clear of the bottom and move on in summer. Based on six months left, and we being Barnsley I guess bids were derisory.

Vaz should do what Drinkwater did, and I don't mean move to Leicester.

He should sign a new extended contract with his club now. That way, he gets better terms till end of season, we keep him for a bit longer, and we get a proper fee for him when he does in fact move in the summer.

This is exactly what Drinkwater did at Man Utd, signed a new contract but then left (albeit practically immediately rather than waiting till end of season)

I suspect they were derisory if any were made at all and I expect some bids would have been made. It may be worth us accepting if we get a sensible offer on the table, i.e. in excess of a million.

Anything half a million and above should be accepted. We aren't going to get relegated just by losing the one player, and play offs are too much this season, so cashing in would be best. Our manager brings up time and time again us having no money, so I cannot understand at all why people would want us to risk losing a rare asset we have in the summer for nothing, if we can get a nice bit of money now.

I agree! I think Hill is playing this about right. Vaz will not sign a new contract with us. Why should he - he will sit it out till the end of the season and pick from the best offer that he gets - which will not be from us.

Thus Hill will wait for the best offer to arrive and sell. Would not be surprised to see him leave before deadline day. Hill will then have got a player for nothing, got some excellent and crucial goals from him, and some cash to invest to boot. If you look at this in a realistic light this cannot be considered anything other than great business.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. If we had known that he would have turned out so good then a three year contract would have been a real winner now. At the time we took him on it took a long time for Hill to think he was worth a punt. In such a circumstance one year contract was about right.

If he goes - then sad - but realistically you have to say well done Mr Hill!

Having seen his first couple of performances people would have gone mental if we'd signed him up for 3 years. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. A one year contract is also a better motivator than a 3 year one...

Yep, it's all about the financial value you might place on a championship point and championship goals. Somebody would have to work that out but 10 more goals from RVT might well be worth more than 500k for example as it will determine where we finish in the league, which has a knock on effect in terms of season ticket sale, prize money, sponsorship etc and we have to be seen as a competitive side to attract a replacement if and when he does leave.

It is not inconceivable that we might get dragged into a relegation scrap and or make a dash for the play offs, then we'll all be going why did we sell RVT under market value? No-one will pay his worth with his chequered career- Pearson for example will highly suspect it's a Hillcroft phenomenon whereas he can't get a decent performance out of so-called premier league players. They'll be a few think like that.

we got him for nothing...so its sense to cash in

I do not think we will be in the relegation mix at all, and so we should cash in on him. I now he has become a star for us, but he is obviously not gonna sign an extension. Owt over half a million shoul be seriously considered.
We have young uns coming thru and so we will be fine.

Try our best to keep him, he's the best goalscorer we've had at the club for years.

    read his comments

he has already said, or more or less said, that he will not be here next term.He is an asset..we have a choice...let him go for NOWT or sell him for a tidy sum... how obvious is that.

    Re: read his comments

Define a tidy sum though - If we are getting offers of 50K or 100K which is around the figure I would guess bearing in mind he has less than half a season left with us we do right to turn it down - if someone comes in with 750K then its a different matter entirely. If you believe what you read in the papers we only got £50K for Danny Haynes -but we wanted shut so took it. I wouldnt be surprised if we are seen as a pushover and so the offers we have turned down are indeed derisory

Show him Dominik Werling, Daniel Bogdanovic, Michael McIndoe, Brian Howard and Adam Hammill. Then bench him. Then shave his barnet. Then buy Gary Jones and play him wide left.
    Maybe

When did Ricardo say that? He doesn't like press interviews.

We've lost more than one player. Butterfield and JoB are both injured. Drinkwater has gone to Leicester.

IF 3 clubs are after him you'd be daft accepting first offers.

Don't know where you think you've read his comments

    As he doesn't give interviews.

He did, a couple of weeks ago, in an Edinburgh rag. I read it, and will try and find it now

He will be playing for somebody else on Tuesday no doubt. And I think LPT might be right. It has clicked for him here, after years of not doing much.
