Just been watching the Hobart/Perth game on Sky Sports. Commentators made note that the last match Perth played in 42 degrees but this one it's only 11 degrees. People in the crowd with wooley hats on and blankets/sleeping bags over them to keep warm. Fooking nesh Aussies thinking 11 degrees is blanket weather.
It'll be the same temp here today and if you were sat watching cricket all day you would need to be wrapped up. A mate of mine is at that game who has only been in Oz about 3 months and he says its fecking freezing.
We go on about our weather but it's pretty amazing a 31 degrees switch in temp between one game and the next. Granted it's a different part of the country but still Quite enjoyed Big Bash. Get to see alot of good players never heard of before who might get in the national team at some point.
Haha Tassie is meant to be nice but the weather does seem a little British for my liking. Melbourne's a little too wet too. As for the Big Bash, we're hoping the Strikers come good, starting in Melbourne tomorrow.
I've lived in Melbourne. I wouldnt call it wet at all. Granted the weather is changeable but generally the climate is great.
Every time we've been to Melbourne ...it has really teemed it down. Granted, we haven't been that many times but as an adopted South Aussie I cannot pass the opportunity to give Victoria a slagging! They stole our Grand Prix you know.
Haha. I was there for 18 months and it was great. Victoria is the capital of sport so it make sense for the grand prix to be there!!
I must have gone to Ramsey Street about 20 times in that 18 months. Its pretty accessible and the cast were always great in speaking to you and letting you get close to the action. Weird to think that the street is actually a proper street where people live. Pin Oak Drive/Court if anybody wants to google street view it!
