According to St Matthew, McCrory will "take over within a few days and support Danny Wilson in the January transfer window." By my reckoning, that means we should hear that the takeover has been completed either today or tomorrow in order for Danny to be "supported" in what will then be barely 24 remaining hours of the window. I suppose it's possible - McCrory has demonstrated he is a quick worker because his takeover at Swindon lasted less than ten months (February - December 2013). Having said that, the consensus seems to be that he did a good job for Swindon. What will the Chronicle's line be if none of this happens?
Really not sure why you keep banging on about this. Chronicle printed a story which clearly the journalist compiling the piece believed in and he had obviously got some information in order to be specific. This May or may not happen. That's the nature of football and indeed the wider business sector in general. The FT printed an article about a takeover of a company by Braun a few months ago it's not happened yet it may never happen but they clearly had their justifications for writing the piece. When reading any paper you just exercise your critical facility. Patrick Cryne's been looking to sell. He won't sell to anyone he doesn't think will help us progress. That's all we need to know.
I have no idea whether a takeover could be completed and ratified by the football league by the time the window shuts but if it is definitely on the cards then I would imagine there would be nothing to stop prospective new owners making a donation to the club in order for transfers to be done. Has many have said it may or may not happen, wont stop me watching Barnsley either way
Did it say "will" take over in a few days? You sure it didn't say "could" take over? Makes a big difference.
