Big Brother contestant Emily Parr has been removed from house after using a racially offensive word, Channel 4 says.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/6729673.stm

Well she was dancing with that Charley and Nicky and she said "are you pushing it out n****r?" she said it wasn't meant malisiously, it was a joke. But the big brother 'people' found it neccassary to take her out, under the bad behaviour rules.

Pathetic Of Big Brother........ to take something out of the context it was said in. Ever since the Shilpa race row they have been treading on egg shells. She should still be in the house and the decision to get rid is rubbish.
RE: Transcript of conversation. Strange one, because obviously she didn't see it as a problem, and if it was someone she knew well it wouldn't have been a problem. And if she was black we wouldn't have even been discussing it. But obviously after the last big brother thing they are clamping down, and she should probably have known that.
RE: Pathetic Of Big Brother........ Yep, everything has a context in which to be interpreted, and it sounds like this one wasn't that bad. I guess BB are crapping it after last time, they've made the rod really by not doing enough last time for the sake of ratings.
RE: Transcript of conversation. That my friend is the bottom line and shows a gulf in society when different cultures can get away with saying the same word that other cultures cannot.
It seems a pretty stupid thing for her to say. Especially from someone with 10 out of 10 for intelligence! Silly cow deserves all she gets.
RE: Transcript of conversation. I totally agree. But I don't care that she's gone. She was up her own arse anyway
Not quite Its not a case of 'getting away' with saying something. A black person calling someone else a 'n1gger' has traditionally had a completely different meaning from a white person doing the same. Thats the context I was talking about. But I agree that in this case it doesn't seem to have been meant in an offensive way (tho she should have used some common sense given what has gone before, and known BB producers would be panicky).
RE: Transcript of conversation. yeah alright mate ud give her the clap more likely u slag (shithappens)
RE: Transcript of conversation. Theres more chance of Jacko been given some mouth love by a decent looking bird.
