Anyone else a bit concerned with stans performances so far this season? Obviously im pleased with the teams start to season but a bit disappointed so far with stan. Just think he has looked abit off the pace and not been as dominant in the air as he was last season.

Totally agree. He's either not fully fit, or in the comfort zone. We need Mostto or Kim to get challenging asap.

Its not just this season though

he tailed off massively in the last half a dozen games of last season after bursting onto the season with 5 goals in 7 (or whatever it was).

Think Christiansen is the answer replacement wise

getting ready to be shot down in flames.............

he works and works and works-a goal or two would help his confidence though

RE: getting ready to be shot down in flames.............

I'm trying not to criticise him at all, as his and Nardiellos goals kept us in the division, and his workrate is second to none, HOWEVER, from what I've heard this season, and what I saw last season towards the end, I'm just starting to wonder if his amazing start to his Barnsley career is clouding over slightly the fact he shouldn't be first choice anymore.

    He Shouldn't Be Starting

He's a good player, but strikers have to be judge firstly on goals and he gets none. A spell on the bench might give him more motivation. He can't keep living off the blistering start to his Barnsley career.

I also think his contribution has been good

In the home games I've seen, he's won & held up the ball more often than he's been beaten. I'd agree he's been quiet at times, but for me he was MOM V cov, and has worked solidly.

    No goals?

Incorrect. The other strikers aren't showing enough in reserves to warrant him being dropped when he's scored 2 and contributed / worked in all games. I don't mind him being subbed earlier in games to guive Mossto/ Christiensen a chance, but as yet there's no reason to drop Stan.

He's scored twice as many goals

As our other three forwards put together.

    Aren't statistics great.

    Not really, no

He'll get goals with the proper service.

    Heathen.

Cant drop Stan. He works too hard to be dropped. While the team is winning we shouldn't be making any changes. Does it matter who scores? And to be honest if we are judging purely on goals then he would still make the 1st team, up front with Kayo. Also don't think there is anybody ready to step in to the 1st team. SD has obviously decided Mostto needs some time and Christensen just doesn't look fit enough to start a game. When he plays the last 20 he is gasping for breath at times and looks knackered at the end. Stan is our best bet for goals in the long run, and we need to get him some service, then the goals will come.
