Near Milton Keynes. Involves lorries and unfortunately a minibus full of passengers, could be anyone going anywhere but possibly travelling fans of another club. Either way there are fatalities confirmed, so a very sad way to start the holiday weekend. Travel safe today folks.
The southbound carriage is closed at Newport Pagnell. Two arrested for dangerous driving. On Saturdays I always come up through Thorpe Hesley, Hoyland and Blacker Hill as Meadowhall traffic brings junction 34 to a halt.
Very sad. Apparently happened at 3-15am. Mini bus is from Nottingham. Several dead, four seriously injured and as BRA says two lorry drivers arrested on dangerous driving charges.
A child has been confirmed as one of the dead. Lorry driver has apparently failed a roadside breath test. How could you ever forgive yourself.? Totally irresponsible.
In an ideal world there would be an alcohol detector in every vehicle and if it turns red the vehicle wouldn't start and the police would be alerted .
I think they tried that in Australia for people who'd been banned, but it was easily worked around by getting someone else to blow into the equipment.
I drive to MK and back every week and it's like everyman for himself at times round there. Thoughts with the victims.
Drink driving a lorry. If it's true he/she should be done for 8 counts of murder, and never get out. Sadly they'll more likely get a driving ban and a short custodial sentence.
