so we have 3 games in a week. A depleted squad with 4 members unavailable. This will put our high press high energy approach to the test fully. Win today and Tues and would we be happy with a draw Friday? I think today is as big of a game as we have had in terms of points needed and all players coming out unscathed
I've got my fingers firmly crossed but I'm not very optimistic this morning. The misfortunes seem to be piling up. Let's hope we can keep things tight and create the opportunities for Cauley to grab some goals. COYR.
2 wins and a draw should be fine. Doesn't really matter which way round they are, although I'd love to beat Sunderland!
I think if we win today and come out of the other two with a point from each then we could be relatively pleased given the circumstances, although it may result in forfeiting 2nd place to Sunderland by next Saurday. The big one has to be avoiding defeat on Tuesday.
We just need to beat Sunderland will then kill the momentum that they have picked up as they seem to have found a bit of form at the moment.
For me, today is the start of one of the most important weeks in the Clubs recent illustrious history. This morning, the wind is blowing and the rain is lashing down, so we have to hope that the conditions don't hamper our performance, if the weather doesn't improve going into the afternoon. As for the possible line up, sure we will miss Moore, McGeehan and Brown, but surely we have reliable players that can more than step up to take their place.? If our season is not to be blown off course, its absolutely essential that we ensure that we have eleven men on the pitch when the final whistle blows, so discipline and self control are vital. The Accrington game will not be a "pushover", but I honestly believe we can beat them. The games against Sunderland and Doncaster are both tricky and it's very hard to predict which way they might go. Given the present strength of our squad, I believe it's essential that we should aspire not to lose either of those games and we should be more than satisfied, if we are able to go one better than a draw and take all three points from either one of those games. At this moment in time, I would gladly settle for a win this afternoon and a draw on Tuesday and Friday. By late Friday night, we should have a clearer idea as to our chances of achieving our ultimate goal, which for me, is automatic promotion back into the Championship.
I think we should be looking at 7 points at this stage of the season, 9 would be fantastic with a depleted starting 11, but 7 I think will be a good return
I'd take a win today & two draws, given the players we have available. Hope DS has something up his sleeve in terms of using fringe players where needed for fresh legs. Could be Green & Styles chance to figure at some point. Cam and Jacob will at least be fresh for the run in, if we don.t lose ground this week.
One game at a time. We need to concentrate fully on today and getting the win. Both Sunderland and Luton are away today, you would expect them to win but stranger things have happened. A defeat or even a draw for either puts a different perspective on things.
The players that come in are not going to roll over and have there bellies tickled...they will want to be apart of a promotion winning team and playing regularly. I’ve no doubt that whoever comes in are going to push brownie and Mcgeehan for their places....that is why I’m not worried....
For me, it’s not so much worrying about the players coming in today as, I agree with you and think that they can come in and do a job. Where the worry surrounds is the squad depth. I think our bench will be pretty weak and the given that we have these 3 games within a week, the squad will be significantly tested.
It’s not the fact we’re missing these players in the team but the squad as a whole . We are threadbare if anything happens in next three games as regards injury or suspensions . I think we as fans hold a key part in next few games with our vocal support we need to let them know we’re behind them and spur them on. Daniel will organise and motivate in the dressing room but it’s up to us on the field and tbf when the chips are down as they are next three games we generally come up trumps .
Not even 3 games in a "normal" (Saturday to Saturday) but only 7 days. Fitness has been our strong point this season and god knows we need it now.. We need to at least match Sunderland or we're in trouble as far as Automatic goes and I'll include a draw on Tuesday in that.
