Ronnie Biggs has been refused parole today as Jack Straw decided he was "wholly unrepentant" over his role in the train robbery. I can't decide if i am happy with this decision or if i think he is just another high profile prisoner being used as a political pawn by our government in the same way that the Krays were. There are many more dangerous people released from prison than Biggs so is there a hidden agenda dictating this decision?

to be fair to Biggs I don't think he was responsible for that - he was more of a lookout as far as I am aware

    Already released

& there are still pillocks who pass on the viral e-mail asking people to sign a petition to prevent their release!

I have to admit i think its particularly harsh when you consider some of the prisoners who have been released and what they had done. Is this Jack Straw trying to flex his political muscles by saying "look at us, arent we tough on crime".

The driver Jack Mills who was struck with an iron bar in the robbery died 12 years later, not immediately after the robbery

    No sympathy for him whatsoever!

spentmost of his life sticking two fingers up at the British people and then only decided to come back because he wanted his healthcare to be provided and he thought the British would be too soft to lock him up for long. Hard luck Ronnie :D Nice one Jack. Now take away the cushy life he is provided with.

two wrong decisions don't make a right one as I know you are aware. I'm not pontificating, but he has not spent very long in prison.

Should be serving life as adults at least, one of the greatest miscarriages of justice IMHO
