Much-coveted Bury hit-man Andy Bishop has signed a contract extension to keep him at Gigg Lane until 2012. The proven goalscorer turned down a new contract at the club earlier this month and had been linked with a move away. But Bishop - who has been the club's leading scorer for the last two seasons and has already netted on 11 occasions so far this term - has now agreed to stay on at Gigg Lane until the end of the 2011/12 season.
