What the hell are the board doing by chasing players from lower league clubs (mattis / williams / the lanky streak of p*ss centre half from Scotland / Constantine etc etc etc

The board I think are sailing us all down the river with false promises and lack of ambition........

Box Office Signings..................... BULL SH*T - Where are they Mr Cryne ??? Like you they have disappeared

All smoke and mirrors these clowns, don't think they'll spend hardly anything, what WILL happen is the break up of our teams best players to the highest bidders to raise some cash for next season in Division 1. There will be the ususal cak about " well yes we did our best to sign XXXXXXX but were outbid at the last minute or we couldn't agree terms " when the truth is we probably bid £100k and the bloke goes for £400k.

Whilst Leeds and Hull are in for players like Shipperley, Lucketti, Kabba, Elliot etc etc etc etc we are shopping at Aldi for untried and untested players at this level.

Why can't they see what me and the other 10,000 poor sods have been screaming at them BEFORE we beat Swansea in Cardiff that we need experienced been there done that players with Championship level experience. Buying a bloke from Bury for peanuts !!!!!!!!!!!!!! might aswell put me up front for £50 a match.

And finally........rant over soon folks............ Simon Davey yes nice bloke, done well with a few points but why the f*ck have we appointed him instead of an experienced manager. AGAIN MY FRIENDS THE CHEAP OPTION ??????????????????????????

Well done Mr Shephard the ghost Mr Cryne and your felow board for getting the club relegated

After watching another spineless gutless away performance at Wolves and spending over £100 on tickets and travel to take the family, never again until we sign some quality. 18 Years on the trot now as a season ticket holder, but this is the last one for definate. I'll show the club the same attidute and drive as our players did at Wolves and Leicester and against Wednesday.

BUT REMEMBER FOLKS WHEN THE SEASON TICKET RENEWALS FOR NEXT SEASON COME ON SALE MR CRYNE WILL BE RIGHT THERE WITH US PROMISING MORE "BOX OFFICE SIGNINGS"

    ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

CHEERS DRAGON TYKE FOR THAT MATE - I KNOW ITS A RANT BUT WE ARE BEING SOLD DOWN THE RIVER AGAIN !!!

Cheers mate been going for over 25 years now man and boy but even in the old dark days the red shirt was worn with pride and a passion, when they lost at least they went down with a fight. Some of these overpaid spineless wan*ers don't deserve to even get in Oakwell.

Our board have lost touch with the supporters, they just don't listen or realise what we have been telling them for months.

This board will get us relegated...........end off....................no ambition penny pinching etc etc etc etc

Like you my friend this will be my last year as a season ticket holder and they can forget the new shirts bedding coats etc etc etc etc etc etc

THE LIKES OF GLAVIN, REDFEARN, WINSTANLEY AND EVEN CHRIS MORGAN WILL BE TURNING IN THEIR GRAVE !!

errrrrm well I feel he intoned enough to say box office players for many many fans

and as usual no one appears...just like when we let Shipps go and were told he would be replaced by as good if not better.....still aint happened, yes I know that was the old regime...but the song remains the same at Oakwell

Ok NEZBFC was I mistaken then ????

I thought he said he would get or would like to see box office signings at Oakwell ??????????????????????

But my friend after working a double shift to pay to take the family to Molineux...that was the straw that broke the camels back.

Are you getting a bid tired of false promises and lack of ambition ?????

All the hard work and euphoria of Cardiff is being thrown away by old men sat on their wallets (doh) (doh)

Agree with a few points but..... QUOTE "What the hell are the board doing by chasing players from lower league clubs (mattis / williams / the lanky streak of p*ss centre half from Scotland / Constantine etc etc etc".

All I can say is Nugent, Phillips, Danns just to name three all came from lower league clubs. Players have to start somewhere, and if clubs in higher divisions dont take these risks then players will not progress. What do you know about this centre half from Scotland???? What do you know about Williamson????

Well, those sentiments are spoken my many fans, but it's only the second day in the window, lets wait and see what Shep and Davey have in mind. I'M like yourself, and i have said in the past that Shep is only a novice at this game, and he feels so proud when he signs a player on the cheap and the player is crap.

Quality players i'm afraid will be hard to come by, there are another 90 odd teams wanting quality players, and a lot of them have thicker wallets than we have. We are always going to be outbid for Quality, thats why like yourself i am very pessimistic on the outcome on our venture into the transfer market. Wages, the status in the league we are in play there part in attracting quality players to our club. The top and bottom of it all is that we need massive investment, Wednesday, last season spent over 2million to keep them up when they got promoted, we wont spend a quater of that, so get your prayer book out, and go pray outside Aldi and lets hope Shep, Cryne and Davey can suprise us these coming weeks. Honestly i don't think they will. (titanic)

Oh Come on can you not see how that was meant .....

it was a tatsy morsel to get the fans hopes up ..to say we will look for quality and if you cannot see that intoation then my friend you really are thick I am afraid.I am sorry to be insultive, I really am ...but its time many many people opened their eyes and as "Ora" is saying ..realise we are being shafted as fans.

    well done....

I have learned my lesson in life by reading "in between the lines" and also reading things that aren't there.

Whilst I can appreciate why many people look to this as being a promise, whats more thick than reading something that isn't printed/quoted/said or however you want to look at it.

One thing he didn't say, was

"I promise I will make Box Office Signings"

Now if you can find that somewhere then all is forgiven and I will accept being called Thick, my friend.

well as you say...you really do not know life.....

thats was what is known as a "veiled statement" it was inuendo etc etc...in other words it was a statement to fool the fans into believing that said "Box Office" signings were being sought...it was flannel/spin/chicanery call it whatever you like....IT WAS SENT TO FOOL US INTO BELIEVING ENOUGH TO PART WITH OUR MONEY.

    nice way to put it...

IT WAS SENT TO FOOL US INTO BELIEVING ENOUGH TO PART WITH OUR MONEY

but as I said, it wasn't actually promised, what you are saying is that I am thick for pointing out what was actually said, and I don't know life...

Well, I for one, didn't read it as saying we will get box office players, and was not fooled into thinking that would be the case, as I also have 24 years experience of this barnsley football club/board and the ***** that comes with it, and to call me thick into believing box office players WILL be bought (or beleived to be looking at) is as offensive to me as that time you got me banned for the day for calling robert earnshaw.

You can do a search for "box Office" for the entire site, and you will find time after time, I have been trying to tell people the very same thing as above, as the box office statement has caused more grief than anything, but what keeps happening is people keep bringing the "incorrect statement" back into play whenever there is some discontent in the stands.

To call someone thick for pointing out a fact, as opposed to being led down the very same garden path, year after year, is somewhat very suprising to hear especially from the likes of you.

again saying something that isn't there.
