Sounds like Leeds are wanting him off the books permanently which I can only assume is down to the court case. We want a loan deal as do Hull city, but I from what I'm told we wont be persuing a permanent deal at this stage, that leaves hull city... will they make a bid for him? I dunno. Its risky. Were still in for him, the loan bid is still on the table and hopefully if Hull decide against making a bid then im told the player favours the loan move to us. Alot can change very quickly in football so let's wait and see. Still confident something could happen this week.
Whats wrong with giving him a year with option of longer if court case goes ok? Any transfer fee should reflect the fact his future is unknown or again pay more if the case goes in his favour
Not a clue mate, I only get snippets now as things have definitely tightened up since the new owners came in. I do know that Daniel and the board sat down to discus targets before the players went away in the summer and his top target is available, and the club are in for him. I literally couldn't tell you who it is, where they're from etc though.
His value is the problem pal. The rumours that hes available at 900k is well off. That fee needs doubling.
Around two million plus wages plus signing on fee plus agent fees etc is a lot of money to spend on someone who could be in the slammer at the end of next season. If Leeds want him off the books it can't be that hard. They can agree a fee with a club so he signs for them. If he is found not guilty they get more money off the buying club. If he's found guilty the buying club don't owe them another penny.
I wouldn't even entertain signing someone in his position. Don't care how good he is, not worth the risk.
What are the chances with a season long long with a view to a permanent deal at the end like what we had with Bahre?
Personally for that amount of money we can do better. Innocent or guilty that trial will.weigh on his mind as it gets closer.
I'd leave well alone. If Leeds do want him off the books it's for a reason. This lad will bring too much baggage and too much uncertainty, plus I hate loans.
I loved our loan signings Neil Redfearn, Anderson da Silva, Jon Macken, Jack Butland, Oli McBurnie, Cauley Woodrow & Mike Bahre just off the top of my head.
Not counting the ones that ended up at Barnsley obviously! Would love to have another Redfearn at the club!
Two of which were slated for a perm deal when they came and Redders became perm. Far better to bring on your own players. Plus, let's consider the list of loans that were a complete waste of time. I can think of lots more of those.
Trippier and Matty James too. Both were class loans, Also cant forget Kevin Long who played a big part in our turnaround that promotion season.
I'm not trying to start a point scoring excercise. I also prefer when we bring on our own, but when we did that last season Brown & Ben Williams also got slated. If we can bring in loans with a view to making the deal permanent, I have no problems with it.
I honestly dont know mate I never asked the question. I certainly got the impression he wasnt the number 1 choice for that position, but that's just impression I got. I'd be beyond gobsmacked if he signed permanently, the balls in hulls court as things stand.
