Found out yesterday that my school was going to be shut today on Local Authority advice. In truth, I reckon it could probably have opened but I've very glad it isn't as I'd have been getting the train in at daft o'clock due to not wanting to do the hour's drive (in good weather) in the snow. We were going to be celebrating World Book Day today and there was no way on Earth I was going to get the train in wearing my outfit but it's quite complicated to get into so I couldn't just change into it there. No worries now Oh and RED ARMY!!
Was supposed to be flying to Dusseldorf this morning....from Manchester. Needless to say we had no chance...M62 effectively shut yesterday and today so that's a lost weekend away (usually lost due to alcohol). Had tickets for one of their biggest games of the year too but at least we are safe and warm at home. RED ARMY & FORZA FORTUNA !!!
Not with the prices they charge !!! It takes 2 hours by train on a good day....and according to the forecast the weather is still going to be cr@p so not risking getting stuck somewhere. The missus has MS and reynauds so can't take risks. Hotel have offered to move our dates for us as a goodwill gesture so looking at flights for Aprils games.
I go by train all the time, it's about £30 return but there's always special offers - my last trip was a tenner return. Much cheaper than car parking and less stressful than driving on a route which is always snarled up. It's 2 hours on the train as you say, but you have to allow 2 hours by car anyway because of the traffic.
