Anyone know how to stop a Blackberry from wiping, to reset it after it's been wiped and to get a new password ?

My daughter has had 10 failed attempts with her password, and the whole thing has started to wipe. It is the end of life as we know it, apparently.

Does the bb get connected to your pc at all? If it does you might have a back up file *.ipd that you can use to restore it using desktop manager.

Beyond that think it will be wiped completely.

Think it's all gone. Can't get past the "reinstall Software 513" screen at the moment.

I'm not a big fan. Stupid keyboard. Gadget designed for business, but hijacked by kids who use it for messenger, rendering them totally incapable of any kind of social skills beyond the gadget itself.
Wasted two hours today trying to sort it. Got the thing up and running, but all contacts are deleted. I'd have been quite happy to chuck it in the bin.
