Blackpool - attacking side, flair, passion, all over you like a rash, good posession, shots on target, free headers, batter you sensless - BUT, in the bottom three.

Barnsley - looked like headless chikens, unpredictable, frustrating, annoying, exciting, heart in mouth stuff, players go from looking good to looking abysmal, few shots on goal. BUT - fourth on the table.

Sometimes football isn't pretty and sometimes it's down to luck. Davey is no fool and he knows what he can get from each of his players. Tonight we ground out a win. It wasn't big or funny or clever, but we won. Football purists might want to bury their heads in disbelief, but if we can get in the mix with the likes of Watford and WBA, heads above Charlton and way in front of Ipswich, the DeeDars, Cov, Soton and a good few others, then I'll take it. The table doesn't lie and we're causing proper chaos.

    Bring it on.

    Indeed

We're fourth in the table because of the earlier great performances against the "bigger" teams and getting results like this when not on form. And although Blackpool were the fresher and better team tonight, it wasn't as one sided as people are now making out. It's all rosy at the 'well.

    RE: Indeed

Last season around this time of the year, I went to away game to watch the Reds. For 70 minutes we outfootballed the opposition and but for just one decent striker could have had the game sown up at half time. The home team were absysmal - so much so that as the half dragged on they were continually booed by their home fans.

We were leading 1-0 with 20 minutes left and looking very comfortable - we then let in a soft equaliser and minutes later an equally soft second goal to lose the game.

I went away from that game pointless but thinking we had played well. Tonight I thought we didnt play well but have 3 points. Give me the latter scenario every time. Had Blackpool played on Saturday there is no way they would have bossed that second half.

Oh by the way, the team we were playing last season mentioned earlier?

    Derby County!!
