What a complete and utter ***** of a ground it is. Just like most of the Hotels, all glitz from the out side but crap inside. The pitch was not even up to recreation field standard. I fully expected a goalie getting a bobble and Steele got one. Went up 12 inches over a big divot.. The whole pitch was cut up before kick off. Then the Exits or Exit. A major catastrophe is going to occur their, one massive bottle neck. 70 million pounds out of premier and a stand stood on scaffolding poles, no proper toilets and only two cubicles for the Ladies. Heavy handed security, treating supporters like scum. Long Hillsboro type queue then big search, taking ages to get in. Then chucking their weight up and down with supporters inside. Then the real booby prize. On coming out, instead of opening gate for away supporters to go directly to the buses, they made everyone go right round which meant the away supporters coming back into the car parks AGAINST the main flow of Home supporters going out. Light the blue touch paper. The whole ground is far too small and to say it is a premiership club is a joke. Only good point in there was our brilliant team, brilliant manager, and brrriiiiilllllliiiaaannntt supporters. We are playing well and there is no way we are going down
not been there for years, when the stand was uncovered. blackpool is a $hithole full stop though. great day out for you though, top effort
The off-field activities today has led me to question going to anymore away games. I have never seen supporters treated in such a horrible, brutal and provocative way as today. The police and stewards seem intent to cause as much animosity as possible at Blackpool. I won't go into details but the way people I know were treated today was dispicable. They wont be going away again for a long time and I doubt I will. Horrible ground, horrible place. The queues to get in were a joke, the stand is a disaster waiting to happen, the bogs would be sub-standard in the Conference. A Barnsley fan got smacked whilst having to walk through onward coming home fans after. Total disorganisation.
How can anybody walk round Barnsley then complain that another place is a s******e. I do agree fully with the comments about the ground, although it didn't take long for some of our braindead fans to jump up and down trying to get the structure to collapse.
Yes and I thought it was going to go. Apparently it did wobble with Cardiff. Tell you what, how that lot is getting through Health and Safety I will never know
http://www.blackpoolgazette.co.uk/co...eaks-1-5347094 Published on Thursday 24 January 2013 08:14 AN investigation has been launched following reports part of a stand at Blackpool Football Club broke during a match. Blackpool Council has confirmed the club has contacted the town hall after a board in the away stand broke while fans were standing on it at Saturday’s match against Cardiff City. Coun Gary Coleman, cabinet member for regeneration and urban development at Blackpool Council, said: “Blackpool FC has contacted us to report an incident that took place during the Cardiff City match on Saturday evening. “We are investigating a report that a board in the away stand broke while fans were standing on it.”
Those stewards stood outside the turnstiles were an embarrassment to the town of Blackpool and Blackpool FC - throwing their weight around thinking they were the big I am, treating the away fans like they were criminals. I've had stewards ask to search me before entering a ground before but most of the time they are nice about it and try put in a bit of banter but those outside the away end today were full on idiots. The stand is a joke - the toilets were put in a few years ago and they are already grubby and as for getting out at the end! Just hope there's never an emergency with fans needing to evacuate urgently..that stand really is a disaster waiting to happen. At least we got 3 points to make up for the idiot stewards and sub-standard facilities
I completely agree about the stewards outside being complete knobjockeys. The one who frisked me, looked me straight in the eyes and asked if I was carrying any bottles or cans, thought he was going to headbutt me. Then frisked me pretty thoroughly and found my keys in my coat pocket, and said he wanted to see what that was.. went to go in my pocket and he jolted my hand back up with quite some force and said 'in a minute!'. showed him that it was just my keys and he let me get on with my day. i can understand wanting to find people who do take cans and bottles into a stadium, but like someone said above, a little banter and jokiness wouldn't have hurt
Blackpool forum have put this on their site and agree. They are going into the wilderness and Oysten will walk with the money
I got in alright and had no problems but my brother and a mate of mine, who were way behind in queue wasnt allowed entrance because they apparently cause trouble at all away grounds, they hadnt even to been to a away match in 3 years!! I reckon they oversold on tickets and just decided to pick random people to not allow entrance. disgrace
One would have thought the owner would get the stadium sorted with the parachute payments straight away. I went last year and it was one of the worse grounds iv been to. Blackpool itself is a shithole, just like benidorm but colder.
