straight uncomplicated run through at 8.30am.

Mate forgot to turn off at Birch so we went to the next services salivating for a full fat knacker breakfast. Disappointed to find to full english but pleasingly served bacon or sausage barms. Fluffy soft rolls wi freshly dry fried decent back bacon & delicious peppery porky morsels.

After a satisfying snack back on the road & received a call saying mates tickets to Pleasure Beach had been transferred after all despite being 'Non transferable'. Arrived at hotel to find perfect space in front of reception. So to the Pleasure Beach. Rides, not too bigger queues and weather getting better :)

Lunch time & to the Star. Light lunch of kids fish finger meals all round - perfect just the reyt amount, crisp chips, battered fillet fingers & old fashioned tinned peas not eaten in 35 years.

So 3 happy bunnies left for Bloomfield Rd via the Excelsior for a toilet stop & a swift half.

We arrived somewhat glowing (as ladies do not sweat) as it was now glorious sunshine. Bloomfield Rd still a hole & the VIP car park users risk serious car damage with every stray ball. The scaffolding stand was as wobbly and inadequate as ever - how long does it take to build a stadium? The Emirates took far less time!

I shall draw a veil over the game but suffice to say 2 poor teams played a poor game of football. The education provided by El Mouhanirs (sp?) friends who taught us to cheer & curse in morrocan french certainly added some spice to a turgid game.

I got a freckle face & L got sunburnt which was a surprise and we had packed rain capes, scarves hats & brollies.

So leaving Bloomfield Rd for the trad 'chram ride' to the Pleasure Beach & the Big Blue. Booked in to raised eyebrows and I have a sneaking suspicion we were then referred to as 'the lesbian family' as we were in a family room.

Bath, watched Strictly whilst L & J went for a ride on the Big One. Out for a chinky, anyone interested but Johns was delicious if an unusual name for a chinese chef. Then back for a few Baileys and MotD.

I had drawn the bunk bed so sleep was interesting to say the least! Bunk lengths 4ft 6in, Alityke height 5ft 1in. Lets say the room was shorter than me so sleep was a mystery!

A cheery dawn & a successful foray for a full fat knacker - more peppery porky morsels I now know to be Honeywell sausages & the short order chef happily dry fried me an egg on both sides. Didnt think much of being asked to vacte the table as I was still chewing tho! I'm sure those in the queue could wait ten secs whilst I swallowed.

More sunshine and a wander down the very nice refurbed prom to see the start of the Bike race and a tram past the beach volleyball championships. Dropped off at a sign for the World Fireworks competition! Blacky is hosting a world event a day or so it seems. Bit of shopping at the new shopping centre a stroll along the pier & ride on an old fashioned carousel then a lovely clear journey home.

All in all a lovely relaxing weekend with good company.
