Mid rain and all day long.

And you choose now to pass on that particular nugget of information?

A couple of years ago would have been handy.

We do get quite a bit of rain over here in Nievre which is why it's lovely and green. It's drier further east in Saône-et-Loire, where the red wine comes from, but less green and more touristy. We also have the better Chèvre and Charolais beef.

Long periods of showers, but also some impressive evening thunderstorms that come up from nowhere in late summer and then are gone just as quickly, leaving an eerie silence.

My inlaws are buying in Vendee region.

How far are you from Charlon-sur-Saone? I think i would buy in the Languedoc or the area near Hossegor.

RE: My inlaws are buying in Vendee region.

We're best part of a couple of hours drive west of Chalon-sur-Saône - that's very near the co-operative at Mazenay where we get our wine from. It's good stuff - tinatyke can vouch for it :pff

Mrs Burgundy Red says nice things about Vendée region but I've never been. I'd like to get over that way soon - I've got a friend with a place somewhere between Poitiers and La Rochelle (although I think that's actually south of the Vendée).

There's certainly a lot to explore, once it stops raining.

Kind of semi-retired. Work part-time now, or more precisely full-time some of the time.
