AN investigation has been launched following reports part of a stand at Blackpool Football Club broke during a match.

Blackpool Council has confirmed the club has contacted the town hall after a board in the away stand broke while fans were standing on it at Saturday’s match against Cardiff City.

Coun Gary Coleman, cabinet member for regeneration and urban development at Blackpool Council, said: “Blackpool FC has contacted us to report an incident that took place during the Cardiff City match on Saturday evening.

“We are investigating a report that a board in the away stand broke while fans were standing on it.”
