Blackwell "Turned Down the Job".

After discussions with PC & GS Blackwell Turned down the offer to manage Barnsley due to his questioning the ambition of the club wanting to stay in the championship.

He was informed that the players at the club ie the 3 who are leaving and the 3 incoming -players were all that would be happening in the transfer window and that these players have already being confirmed.

Blackwell also was dismayed by the almost resignation of being relegated by the boards attitude and not being given enough time with a 2 year contract to turn things back round.

Finally after watching 4 of Barnsleys games he questioned the "motivation" of the players as the consistency was not there to guarentee 6 members of the current squad being retained by himself.

The source of this is from a Yorkshire based daily paper who had a discussion with Blackwell yesterday.

So there you have it , Blackwell was offered the job but turned it down, how else would you then offer a job to a untried, inexperienced manger for £75.000 per year who was able to demotivate a team who showed no spine or belief to perform in front of the biggest ever crowd at Oakwell.

You may have balanced the books this year Mr Shepherd but you get a A+ in my books in contributing the demise of the club next season in Division 1.

National Red........you have just posted the most frightening post ever seen on here

    I hope you are wrong
But it needs someone from the club to deny this
I posted earlier saying it could be the club is getting ready for the 1st division
After reading your post I now think we are on the brink of disaster

Call me picky, but I think you'll find that yesterday's wasn't the biggest ever crowd at Oakwell. I've personally been in several much bigger than yesterday's.

Unconcerned about Blackwell, BUT if the rest has truth to it.........

    we're in deep ****!
I wouldn't want Blackwell as manager anyway, but if there's any truth in the rest of Natioonal Red's post, we ARE in trouble.

Shall we just forget about the trivial 'which is the biggest crowd' ......and focus

Let focus on what National Red is saying here
    His post is IMPORTANT
If this post is true, and there is nothing so far to say it is not true - then Barnsley FC are in the 1st Division next season
I for one along with countless others will not be buying a season ticket after what has been a shambles of a season this season
