Talking to a Blade at work this morning who went to the game last night, blades fans where saying that they should refuse to play the 2nd round game against Plymouth because of Plymouths decision to sign Luke McCormack
He was probably meaning that if everyone is taking the stance they are with Sheff U over Evans then they should be like that over Plymouth for having a convicted criminal.
To be fair it's no different And for once i agree with them blunts Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
They have a point but isn't Evans on the sex offenders register which is the main difference between the two.
That's my point. Being on the register bans him from certain occupations and could limit him as a football (working in the academy is one I presume). As despicable as McCormacks crime was he doesn't have these limitations. From a moral perspective they both committed heinous crimes and neither can claim any moral high ground over the other. The same goes for the fans.
I just don't think 1 can take the moral high ground over the other based on the fact that one crime means your name is entered on a register. As you say both were serious crimes they committed.
I' get what the blunts fans are saying but at least McCormick showed contrition and offered a full apology to his victims.
