World Cup boss Sepp Blatter has taken a swipe at Sven-Goran Eriksson’s tactics. FIFA president Blatter hit out in an interview in Tagesspiegel, criticising Eriksson’s 4-5-1 formation in the game against Ecuador. Blatter said: “I am happy that play is very offensive. The only exception is England, who fielded just one striker in their second round match. “That is not the kind of offensive football you would expect from a title contender.”
What's it got to do with him how we play our football and why should he have the right to complain about it the munter. he's the head of FIFA for god's sake and he's criticising one team specifically. You dont see him complaining of diving italian's, defensive underdogs like trinidad and tobago, or how germany are allowed to get away with anything.
Aye cos the Swiss really went for it didn't they.http://www.barnsleyfc.org.uk/bbs/images/emoticons/******.gif
But the Swiss weren't realistic contenders. Mind you, I wasn't aware that there was a stipulation as to how teams that got to the quarter final played, or how many strikers they should play in a 2nd round game. Perhaps FIFA ought to clarify these then we could have World Cups every year instead starting with the 4-4-2 Cup next year and year after we'll have the Sweeper World Cup.
Sepp Blatter..... Ah!.... Blatter the bloater! Now there's a one-off experience, the lunatic Swiss bloke taking a swipe at England.
**** me... I must have imaging the fecking french playing with one forrad. And their match being as dull as the one the night before...
