Left Batley at 6.30 to go to Meadowhall. Hit the queue a mile from Jnc 37 at 7.00. Got off at Jnc 37 at 9.00. Ended up going through Wombwell to the Dearne Valley Parkway to get onto M1 at Jnc 36. Finally got into work at 10.10.

What I want to know is why the much vaunted new Motorway signs didn't tell me that the motorway was closed until I had passed Jnc 38? By the time I read it, I couldn't avoid the queues.

No, was staying near there last night. Not a bad place though.
