Seeing as how we are the most negative fans in the league, i suggest we try not staring facts in the face and employ blind optimism. here goes. 1. Davey will come good, (despite the 3 seasons that suggest he is crap) 2. We will make the playoffs, (despite avoiding relegation by the skin of our teeth for 3 seasons) 3. Davey will play the players he has already in the correct positions, (JCR, Bogdanovic and Hassell the season before last) 4. We will sign some players to make the team stronger than the one that survived on the last day of last season, (even tho there has been no movement a while) I think its hilarious that if you pull the team up on anything like this, (after youve invested your time and money!!) your called negative.
Never said any of those things... What I find irritating is that we've started been so negative so long before the season starts. How do we know Davey hasn't been trying to bring players in for example? We don't - it's pure speculation without a shred of evidence. We can't possibly know who Davey is going to sign until players are unveiled so whether the team will be stronger in August than it was in May is impossible to say. I don't really think that Davey will come good and turn us into play off contenders either and I think that he'll be gone before Christmas unless we have a very good start to the season but today in early July is far too early to say whether we will or not. Having negative fans is an issue bigger than Davey and will still be an issue after he's gone.
Agreed! Can't be arsed to argue about it though. Some people would be negative regardless. I know some Man U fans (plastic ones, from tarn) who continuously moan about team selections, tactics, bad signings, lack of signings etc.
RE: Never said any of those things... Never suggested that you did. The point im trying to make is that there are things that are fundamentally crap at our club, and it bugs me when people address them they are labelled "Negative". if you get an household bill and its too high, are you "being negative" when you phone up about it..... In my opinion, you pay your money and you have your opinion. Its a very simplistic attitude to think that you have to be a football fan with a smile on your face all the time, its expensive, time consuming and emotionally draining being a Barnsley fan but we do it because we love it, Its like any family, its not always smiles.....
all of these points/opinions are not exclusive to reds fans I believe that fans of all clubs have mesage boards bearing posts with close similarities to this type of debate. This post is not in support of either the 'positive' or 'negative' camp, I just believe the above debate is not exclusive to us.
