Well more like healthy eating - but rigidly stuck to it since Monday, didn't have owt naughty, even stayed off the alcohol this weekend.

Total weight loss this morning when I got weighed.........1 pound! 1 fecking Pound? I can **** that!

Oh well - not to be disheartened...stuck at it today, had smoked mackerel and grilled tomatoes for breaky, nowt else till 4pm when I had a lean steak with swede and cabbage.
Oh I should point out that I'm not doing Atkins although todays menu might make you think I was!

I hope I've lost more than that when I get weighed tomorrow. Haven't had chocolate or crisps all week. I've eaten more chuffing fruit this week than I have in a lifetime and I'll look like a bloody Ryvita soon.

To optimise weight loss you need to eat more often or the body thinks its being starved and minimises the calaries it uses

Go to the gym, or join a local gym, do some light exercises. You'll notice weight loss more in your body i.e. your stomach getting smaller rather than on the scales.

    If it's practical..........

....you'd be much better off eating 5-6 meals a day. Don't forget to drink 2 litres of water.

How many calories are you on?

    Not counting calories.

Following the slimming world plan which was working well before Christmas and I'm sure I'll see results next week....was a bit of a shock to see I'd not lost much in the first week which is normally a big loss due to losing retained water.

I drink plenty water (done 6 cups already today!) - shouldn't have posted that up last night, I was just venting off.

    Hmm.

Not sure about that losing retained water bit. I'm not a great fan of weekly weigh-ins as they can be very disheartening. Your weight can fluctuate alarmingly during the day so you could have lost 3-4 pounds of fat and not know it. Also if you're more active you could be increasing muscle mass, that would affect your weight as well.

If you're going to go so long without a meal then once you've reached your target weight you're going to have to retrain your metabolism to come out of starvation mode or you'll put it all straight back on.

Anyway good luck with it R.

Try the cereal for lunch one... i lost 1 stone prior to xmas - it really does work

breakfast - bowl of cereal (crunchy nut / weetabix)
    lunch - same again
evening meal - anything (whatever the wife is cooking)

nothing but fruit at any other time.
