    Blue cards to be trialled, Premier League has ruled itself out of the trial i've mixed feelings on it tbh.
    If it ever gets passed in the PL they'll spend even more time on VAR deciding weather it's a synical foul.

    It will fail, for the same reason as everything else they try fails. Inconsistency. Absolutely no need for it. The game needs less rules, that are clear are consistently applied.

    Not so sure about this idea. But I struggle with the concept a player can be sent off in the 1st minute leaving a side short for 89.
    And at the other end of the scale, a player can prevent a team from scoring In the last minute with a cynical foul leaving a side a man short for that one minute.
    Maybe a sin bin for a period for non violent conduct eg 2 yellows would be ok.?

    It'll fail for the same reason every other attempt to contain the cheating and diving and timewasting fails...because the Premier league win at all cost's multi billion money making machine won't ever put the game first and will continue to block or totally ignore any attempts at rules that try to control the game at ground level. Watch how quickly coaches find a way around rule changes, perfect example is kicking the ball away is a booking....right lads pick it up and walk with it but stop the free kick at all cost's. Only stop the game for head injury...right lads even if it hits ya in the bo**ocks go down holding ya face but stop the attack at all costs..I've virtually stopped watching the Premier league like many others I speak to. in saying that they have record attendances so it must work.

    To be fair to stop a free kick all a player has to do is stand over the ball then move back when the referee asks him to.Imo a player should be booked for time wasting and sent off if he persistently breaks the laws of the game. Blue cards and sin bins in football would complicate the two yellows and off procedure refs have enough to do imo.

    A cynical foul is different to being "last man" and preventing a goal scoring opportunity. My understanding is that a cynical foul is for example when a player gets passed a man who then either trips him up or pulls him down with no attempt at the ball, or if a player is running at pace and an opponent simply body checks them, again with no attempt to play the ball.

    Currently, both those scenarios give a yellow card, the same punishment as someone genuinely going for the ball but ends up either a split second late or done by skill.

    If they do introduce these to pro levels, the reasons to apply them needs to be few, clear and simple.

    Blocking a quick free kick is a bookable offence but the refs ignore the rules themselves so the players follow suit. boils my p**s. once the players kno the ref can be swayed their at it..player took his shirt off in celebration at the weekend but never said in commentary that he got booked. before anyone tells me we don't want robots reffing the game watch rugby or cricket, excellent use of technology to support the ref and reviews are part of the game.

    If it stops players running at the ref every time one of them gets the slightest sign of a foul I’m all for it.

    it won’t work of course but just to add sin bins have been part and parcel of football at county level for a while now. Used for dissent at the ref mainly its quite fun sometimes

    Regardless of the offence being last man or not. (It's a cynical offence imo still) A sending off. straight red or 2 yellows. Punishments can be at either end of the game. And a sending off in the last minute doesn't compare time wise being down to ten men. A last man incident brings that to light. Possibly a penalty would be more appropriate. As its denying a goal scoring opportunity.

    What also beggars belief imo and is one of the barmiest rules around, is if a player is fouled and needs treatment, and the opponent gets a yellow. It's the fouled player if recieved treatment on the pitch for the injury that has to go off. For what I believe is 1 minute minimum under the new guidelines. The player that committed it imo should also be removed from the field of play as well for the same duration. Or neither have to leave.

    Look at the added time at the start of the season compared to what is being given now. The refs need to stick to the rules regardless and players will learn not to chuck the ball away, moan on to the ref. Don't need another card for that.

    I thought the fourth official did the added time don’t know might be wrong, agree with sticking to the laws of the game though.
