Bag o' ballax. It's been down for nearly a week now and all you get when you phone up is, "If you are having problems with your e-mail account, our engineers are looking into it. We hope to resolve the problem shortly". A bloody week - get some engineers who know what they are doing, they could have put a new server in in that time.
It's well & truly shagged after about 5pm. Seems to work ok in the mornings and afternoons! Thank god for Hotmail.
Hotmail seems to be down too at the moment! <span style="font-style: italic;">"We apologize, but your account is temporarily unavailable. This delay does not affect the entire site or result from any problem specific with your account however the server that holds your account information is temporarily unavailable. We do not expect this delay to last much longer, so please continue to check our site for your account status.</span><p style="font-style: italic;">We will do our best to make your account available as quickly as possible. We appreciate your support, and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience."</p>
It may not actually be Blueyonder's fault...there was a massive network failure originating with BT last week that buggered up the servers of Bluyonder, OneTel, NTL and Homecall to name but a few. To make things worse the BT server that manages their network faults also crashed. That fault is fixed but during the downtime several companies had their own servers attacked by third parties, leaving customers without access to e-mail etc. Most of them have been fixed but some companies are still having problems. They reckon its been caused by hackers/viruses, though that's unofficial
Sorry for not spotting this thread sooner, but, this e-mail I recieved earlier this week, might explain some of the problems you've been having. Dear customer, From time to time we need to undertake maintenance to our e-mail services to ensure their smooth operation. Our next scheduled maintenance work will commence from Tuesday December 6th at 2300 and run for up to 20 hours. During this work you will not be able to access your blueyonder e-mail via your e-mail software (e.g. Outlook Express) or Webmail. No e-mail will be lost as a result of this work, however you may experience some short delays in receiving e-mails on the completion of this work. For more information visit our Blueyonder service status page http://www.blueyonder.co.uk/status We apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause you. Regards, The team at blueyonder.
