It's been on the cards for a while and some testing has recently been done, I was mysteriously upgraded recently to just under 5Mb for a day.

1Mb becomes 4Mb - excellent! I started out on 521k and have already been upped twice!
How much will the 10Mb be then?

Their TV may be crap but the broadband is excellent

    Whats Garbage?

The email is yes, anyone that opens an email with an attachment deserves all they get.

The speed increase though is real enough!

    RE: Cant wait, myself!

    How much kb/s is that?

    RE: Cant wait, myself!

..but...the provider at the other end has to be able to attain those speeds - and that costs money. Easynews for example will only offer 3 connections at 1Mb, so that is 3Mb. Giganews requires 10 open connections at 29$ per month. 10mb is great, but can it be attained?

    Nonsense.

No rate limits. Most Easynews users are able to max out their connection, even full 10mbps ethernet.
    Unlimited HTTP and NNTP connections.

    Thats from easynews's front page.

Try it mate. You won't get near 10mb - and even if you do, the fees will be astonishing. 9$ for 20Gb monthly. You'll exceed that within days.

The only way I'll not reach the full speed is at this end' too much contention. Read the testimonials on Easynews and their news pages.

Astonishing fees? A whole $9 for 24Gb (4 extra for the survey and Grid.org). Times must be hard if you can't afford that.

20Gb is 5 DVD's. it soon adds up at 10Mb per second. Giganews is 12 quid a month for unlimited downloads...
