Me too mate Decent turn out considering their poor form And they haven't won away since August in league Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Got to hand it to them re. their support, still getting 20k at home and taking good numbers away despite 5 years down here. They ought to given the size of the city but it's easy for your support to drop when mediocrity sets in.
I'd be amazed if they sell 5000. They go on and on about their massive support but they are usually very low in numbers when they come to us. Massive; you're having a laugh.
If they don't sell another ticket it's still a good amount considering recent form, it's not a rare fixture and the early kick off time. If they were in blinding form and playing us at 3 o clock in our first fixture in years they would be asking for west stand tickets.
Could have sworn we reduced the ticket prices for that match? Or the Chezzy game around the same time. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Let's not confuse this lot with Wednesday. Historically sheffield United have been rubbish bringing hundreds not thousands despite only being down the road.
Saturday afternoon, 3pm kick-off, the division above this one, they brought 1100. Rape Apologists United are many things. Massive is certainly not one of them.
This is the odd thing, bar one time when they had a bit of the West Stand (when they were gunning for promotion and Morgan caved Hume's head in) their numbers to us were pretty ***** in the Championship, for a club their size anyway. Their fans are pissing and whinging left right and centre yet their attendances are holding up, getting larger even. Must be some subsidies/freebies/incentives being handed out somewhere along the line.
At championship level you get the opportunity to have many big away days out so can pick and choose more. When at this level you make the most of playing a local rival so it's not particularly surprising they are bringing more to us saturday than they have many times for championship level games.
They brought about 500 in 1997 cos we were 2nd in the Championship and they were rubbish. Massive. Not.
