I didnt see much of Glastonbury on TV but i saw Blur last night and thought they were amazing. Does anyone know if they are planning to tour?
RE: not a patch on Springsteen, or even Madness nt Unfortunately i didn’t hear either of those although I have seen Madness live and they were class.
Must be my age..but I`ve heard.better sounding farts..total rubbish.. Thats clearly why they are called,,,,,,, in the words of Timmy Mallet BLOOOOOOR.........(sound of someone throwing up) (N) (N)
RE: Must be my age..but I`ve heard.better sounding farts..total rubbish.. Can't be your age mate, i'm not exactly a spring chicken myself
They were amazing...only slightly spoiled by... Our lass needing a slash when we were plonked in prime position infront of the Pyramid. Must have been the 7 pints of cider she'd just had!
I saw them in Manchester on friday night and they were fantastic. But, even though i am a huge fan, i saw them on BBC2 last night and have to agree that Damons voice wasn't at its best during their set. The 200,000 or so there watching didn't seem to mind, though. The most inventive Britpop band there's ever been in my opinion.
first band I ever saw live 1994, Alexander Palace supported by Pulp and Supergrass. Missed Supergrass tho due to roadworks in Leicester! Amazing gig all the same. Saw 'em a few times after that and never quite as good, though their set supporting REM at Milton Keynes was also pretty spot on.
I thought they were awful. Albarns had too many pies the music sounds so dated now. Good in the 90s but not now. Thought Franz Ferdinand were great though.
saw them in 98 just after song 2 came ot and they were *****. saw bettlebum and Tender last night on the telly. I loved bettelbum for Graham Coxons guitar playing but Tender was *****. Never again
i think all bands become a little dated in some ways, but i have to disagree when it comes to songs like Song 2, The Universal (both being used on adverts on tv at the mo), Beetlebum, End of a Century, For Tomorrow, Popscene....i could be here all day. Franz Ferdinand are mediocre at best. One good song a quality band does not make!
RE: saw them in 98 just after song 2 came ot and they were *****. Beetlebum was very good. I also thought Badhead was excellent.
I saw Blur at their peak in 1997 when they headlined the V Festival they were awesome. Didnt think they sounded up to much yesterday but I wasn't there of course.
Mockney pop at its best........I had to switch over ,Blur with the smug Jo Whiley and some iritating aussie ,bloody dreadful
