Definitely I have fond memories of the wee fella. If Hill thought he had it bad at Barnsley should have tried playing the hand that Bobby had. Still he didn't whine about it took us to 11th and got the sack.
It's incredible to imagine it these days but back in the 80s people complained at our mid-table status. Club going nowhere kind of thing. Miles from relegation was seen as failure. How times change
Did an incredible job through a very difficult time. Low crowds, no money but still got us a mid table finish and an fa cup quarter final
I remember Peter Ridsdale announcing something along those lines ten years ago, during a period when ex players Johnny Evans & Steve Cooper (at the ripe old age of 40) had passed away. However, I wasn't aware it was official club policy.
I could be wrong and with my track record of correctly remembering things I probaly am'but i'm sure very recently they announced something on these lines
Ah right, fair enough, mate. As I say, I wasn't aware of any such recent announcement. Personally speaking, I think it'd be totally wrong not to have a minute's silence in respect of Bobby Collins with black armbands being worn by the players, too.
Thought it was very bad form on the part of the club not to have a minute's silence for a fairly recent former manager today. What's wrong with allowing us to show our respect for a good bloke who did a great job for us? Noticed that they had one at Leeds.
I completely agree. I said at the game it was highly disrespectful of the club to ignore him like they did.
I was upset that they didn't honour Bobby a true gent who worked in very difficult circumstances. Poor showing.
I think they said something on the lines of they would honour everyone who passed away etc in one tribute at end of season but I can't for the life of me find any evidence or comments to support this so I am now questioning my sanity. But almost every club honours their heroes as and when things occur so if this is the case I too am very disappointed with the policy. I noticed Leeds honoured him at their game on saturday.
