The article states only RNL will get a new contract as this stage. But then again, journalists are not always right. I can understand that the club doesn't want high earners on the payroll if we do go down (I assume Steele is one of the clubs best payed players?), but if he wants to be here, wouldn't it be possible to install a wage cut clause in the new contract that comes into effect if we do go down?
I think the club have realised that Hill made such a mess that it makes negotiating new contracts impossible at this stage.
