For me, the defence looks more solid with Sir Bobby in it then without him. He not a defensive midfielder (Mr Hill), he's a right-back / central defender.

He must be restored to the starting 11. He must regain the Captains armband. He must emerge from the darkness and restore faith in this once proud club of ours.

Sir Robert of Hassell. A legend.

Anyone would think he was messi the way you lotgo opn about him. Whereas in reality he is a player who is good at getting himself out of tricky situations with excellent last Min tackles

his positional scence, reading of game is excellent....at full back, he's too slow....and at centre back too short...
The only way he could be accommodated is if we go to 3 at the back and al'a Matty Appleby or Gary Fleming...
Personally I don't know where this Hassell love fest as come from...no the worst we've had, but never the best either..

He's only too slow as we want full backs to get forward. Except neither EVER try and beat a man...

He positional play is awful that's why he has to male all of thosefantasic last Mon tackles as he has lost hos man. Of he was slow like Ypu suggest he. Would not be able to recover so well

He is cracking defender, one of the very best that this club has ever had the privilege of having wear the red shirt. Like a few have mentioned, his positional sense is top drawer. A good defender should not have to rely solely on pace, and Sir Robert doesn't. He's never had pace, but what he lacks in height and fleetness of foot, he more than makes up for with a sack-load of heart, gobs of character, hoodlums of intestinal fortitude and a never say day attitude that's just what is needed at this club, now, more than ever.

    Sir Robert of Hassell.

Speed is his game never Marks hosam why do yoi think that when he was a regular Oppositionsaom tactic was always to knock the ball wide behind him rather like they now know to hot it high down the middle

Don't you talk down about Robert. He's twice the man you are, possibly even thrice.

Maybe he is but he is not infallible and he certainly has been the player that opposition teams have gone for

It's time that Keith Hill gave him one last shot at the big time...and maybe, I don't know just maybe, he can drag us from the cusp of oblivion.

Stones is still a gem that requires some polishing. He is still a footballing baby, suckling from the teat of experience. From my Championship Manager 01/02 experience, it is ill-advised to keep playing these 'hot-prospects' as injury, fatigue, pressure can all wear them down.

Re-instate Sir Robert. Re-instate him this weekend and a point at Millwall will be forthcoming.

I didn't say that but Stones looks shaky and whilst ever we leave him exposed due to the lack of cover in front...

At the minute, we need experience, guile and grit. Young Stones is a fine, fine player and will go on to become a top professional, but we need someone to shake up the side, and instill some confidence.

There's only one man that can do that.

That man has a head of copper, and is locked away in the darkness, beneath the bowels of Oakwell.

    Emerge!
