I wouldn't mind him helping out an incoming guy or someone who's done the caretaker role before like Mark Burton. But it's far too early for him to be given the top job.
He doesn't even have a coaching role at the club and he's doing a cracking job with academy recruitment I'd leave him where he is. For now.
Re: Sounds like a plan Or eventually we have to sack another legendary player who wasn't cut out for management like with Super Johnny Hendrie.
I don't want any club legends anywhere near it. Leave them as that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
No chance. What experience has he got in coaching or management? Might has well appoint The Reev. hth
Didn't think Bobby had the relevant coaching badges to take a manages job. I'm sure he's on with them.
Continuity is what we need. We're on a great run at the moment because everyone is/was pulling in the same direction . The last thing we need is a new manager to come in like a wrecking ball . Keep it in house 'til the end of the season . I think we should have fought like hell to keep hold of Johnson instead of packing him off to Bristol with the red carpet in his boot.
All for it. Posted earlier happy with Hassell helping out just not as the main man. The carefully worded statement looks like we plan to promote from within. So if we appoint Mark Burton as "head coach" on a permanent basis with Hecky helping him then that would be fine by me. Two local lads who are highly thought of by Barnsley fans. Team picks itself, we are all on an high etc. Whoever does get it couldn't have asked for an easier job to walk into. Usually it's after someone is sacked, a team is struggling and in need of a massive overhaul of personnel.
Re: Sounds like a plan In fairness I think we were about 10th in the Championship when Hendrie was sacked.I think he lost his job more on the clubs expectations than his ability.
Reading the club statement, wouldn't be surprised if a management team of Hecky/Bobby/Disco wasn't given a chance to the end of the season.
