Touching on what Flicker has said today about Hassell's pace and agility I am curious as to which player, Scott Wiseman or Bobby Hassell, the majority of fans would prefer at CB and RB in a starting eleven?

    CB:

I'd personally prefer to have Hassell at centre back as his ability to read the game, stick a tackle in and his defending capabilities are undoubtably better than Wisemans. As a CB these are key qualities. Pace and agility, while needed, are not as important.

    RB:

I would have Wiseman at RB over Hassell. His pace and agility is brilliant at times. When attacking he can use it to get forward and support/run past the winger. Equally when defending it is important to have agility and pace so that he can keep up with/catch the opposition winger. Defensive capabilities, while still important, are not AS important at RB as they are at CB.

I'd have Hassell in over Mcnumpty any day although I reckon Mcnumpty got the call at CB as he is taller.

    Problem solved.

A defender is paid to defend.

As a rule of thumb wiseman cant.

Most championship wingers would walk past Bobby, FACT! Tom Ince v Bobby Hassell would make me wanna call 999 and accuse Ince of rape!

I agree that another experienced nasty in your face CB is needed though.

Darren Moore never had pace and agility.

Exactly but his aerial ability, his ability to read the game and put a half decent challenge in we're excellent making him a good CB.

I'd have Bobby over Wiseman in both positions as he is a better defender IMO however I think Wiseman is better than McNulty. I don't know what has happened to McNulty or how he keeps getting a game. Edwards must be proper *****.

Best right back I've seen in my 25 years at Oakwell? Nicky Eaden. Neither fast, nor agile.

Best right back I've seen represent England? Gary Neville. Neither fast, nor agile.

I like my defenders to defend. And Bobby does that. This fascination with full backs attacking is something I don't get. If they can attack as well as defending - like Neville and Eaden - then fair enough. But playing a full back because they're quick (which Wiseman isn't, btw) is fcukin stupid. And if it worked, we'd have made a full back out of Carl Barrowclough, and never had to endure another QUICK right back in Carl fcukin Regan.

    ****.

    Fcukin.

Wiseman could never defend. Good wide right midfielder/right winger maybe.

West ham away in fa cup. Bobby got ripped to shreds by Hines.I'd still pick Bobby though as ive seen Wiseman let the ball bounce over his head? which I do a lot because im rubbish but ive never seen a "pro" do!
