One problem. We'd never get the ball.
I'd play JCR Togwell Howard Leon.

Agreed. I really do think that Simon Davey has what it takes to become a really good manager, but until he loses his stubborn streak then there is no chance. Hassell is quite simply shoddy in midfield to be polite. Not comfortable on the ball, when in control of the ball he wants to spray passes around rather than looking for the simple ball, he wanders out of position far too often, and is often seen too far upfield to be classed as a holding midfielder. He should never, ever, be seen at the edge of the opposing penalty area. The centre circle should be his area.

I'm not Togwell's biggest fan but he does at least know how to play the role on the whole. Johnson would usually be my choice but due to Davey's stubborn streak he won't get a look in.

You need someone who can tackle in a midfield.

    We'd get hammered every week

I will never knock bobby for effort

but he is not a midfielder and SD playing him there when we have AJ and ST on the reserves is pathetic.

Agree that he trys his best but he's not good enough for midfield!
Never has been NEVER will be. The Manager should select the team and playing positions according to players strengths.
Alas Bobby's strength is more defensive rather than midfield or am i the only one who feels this way???

Is he even good enough to get in the back four?

SD isn't the first manager to "accomodate" a player in the team for the sheer hell of it.

Absolutely no way would that work - maybe away it could and sacrifice a striker for a proper holding midfielder like AJ and go 451, but as a 4 there's no way that could work - too lightweight, no tacklers.
