It sounded like we REALLY missed him last night when he went off. Was that the case?

    no not really

Austin did OK-Hassell would have had the same problems against their sub who was far more effective than a very lacklustre Jon Stead

    Yes and no

Hassell was superb in the 1st half but Austin did well when he came on.

The game was lost in midfield in the 2nd half. Howard, who was superb for 60 minutes looked nackered and Togwell was pretty ***** all game. As soon as they put Giles Barnes into the middle of midfield we couldn't cope.

Tommy Wright played well as did Marc Richards but he shoud be strung up by his balls for that miss in the 2nd half.

    if only..............

he'd just let the ball hit his leg it would have rolled in-instead he hit it too hard and did the more difficult thing by steering it wide

and I still can't see how Nardiello was given offside-he was behind the player-Hayes? who had the first shot-just poor judgement by the linesman

    Not really, Austin was ok.

    Missed his goalscoring though.

I'd like to see that again

I couldn't see how Nardiello could be offside since the ball came back off the keeper and he wasn't in front of the ball when the original shot came in. It must have been earlier in the build up - its just another example of this stupid offside rule about "interfering with play". The old rule was perfectly ok, if a player was in front of the last defender and the ball is played forward, he should be offside.

    So

Some credit to their manager for how he changed the way they were playing rather than the stories of....we were ***** and gave up!

That's the thing with football isn't it.....it's always about how your team performed or didn't perform, how your team let the opposition back into it, rather than seeing that things aren't entirely always in your control and the opposition can influence it as well!
