I thought he was one of the better players today (and in the first half on Tuesday). He was our only midfield player who got a foot in. He's not in the same league as De Silva like, but I think he's doing a job. I certainly don't think Togwell would have done any more. I think our main problems are creating chances and scoring goals and you've got to look at our three creative midfielders and our strikers for our poor performances in these areas, not at Bobby Hassell.

I'd definitely prefer Bobby at full back

I don't rate Van Homoet at all. Personally I'd play Andy Johnson but for some reason Davey doesn't seem to consider him at all.

For someone who was critical of McCann

I find your "love" for Hassell in the midfield to be mind boggling.

I think we need another central midfielder

I, for one, am not having a go at Bobby as a footballer, in fact I think he is an excellent defender. But he doesnt offer much in the midfield in the way of keeping possession or driving us forward. Not his fault, he is out of position. He is indeed doing a job, but no more.

Has Johnson been playing in the stiffs at all?

I just can't imagine he's gonna be fit enough to play. I seem to recall that he was struggling to play for 60 minutes earlier in the season.

I don't think many are getting on Bobby's back

the problem lies with the manager picking him there.

Aside from Mr Coachman (which is to be expected), I haven't seen or heard many criticisms of the player himself, he's giving 100% that's all he can do. Chelsea would murder him in midfield though.

    dont think so

he just seemed to be getting his fitness levels up slowly when davey dropped he totally. i just wish davey would come out and explain why, and why we signed mostto and christensen.

Why we have spent best part of a millino quid on strikers and our top scorer is a midfielder signed by ritchie

    Too true.

Davey is making a big mistake playing Hassell in midfield.

He should be playing him on the reserves. He simply isn't good enough for the Championship.

Foster is a much better full back than Hassell who has no pace and has poor positional sense. Its a shame Souza was suspended today.

we wouldn't have 11 on the pitch if all the players not good enough for the championship were sent to the reserves.

We'll have to agree to disagree regarding capability, and I feel he's far better than Van Homoet, but I wouldn't have Bobby in the first choice back four either - Foster, Nyatanga, Souza, Kozluk for me.

Souza played his best position today in the stands. Foster/Nyatanga were solid today despite terrible performances from Kozluk and Van Homoet.
