The main point for me is that he can't be any worse than what we have got. If he puts the effort in he can do better than Rigters, KO etc. Hope he plays tomorrow. Just watched the interview on World and he speaks perfect English. I am pretty impressed that a Maltese Libyan who has played in Malta, Bulgaria and Italy can speak it so well. Lets get behind him now he has signed, hopefully he will end up being a real find. COME ON YOU REDS!!!
RE: Speaks 7 languages fluently I believe nt That will be a help to Dennis "the translater" Souza de Guedes
After just watching 2 mins of Youtube, this guy has to be better than what we've got. Look at the goals in this video imagine it's oddjob that's about to take the shot. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=2Qwb6xlr0hs Head in Hands or Hands in air. I know which one I prefer. Also notice how he manages the fine art of staying on his feet and keeping the ball when challenged. We ain't used to that at Oakwell.
Ponty 72 I take it you have never been to Malta then? They speak English better than us , but Maltese is a bloody awful language, it sounds like they are bringing phlegm up all the time.
RE: Ponty 72 Its one of the few places in Europe I haven't been to. I didn't know that. Does their language sound a bit like phlegmish? Boo, rubbish.
Maybe he can talk the ball into the net?!! Seriously, I wish him luck, he might need it with some of the pessimists on here.
Culturally, Malta is a bit weird It's got a real Arabic, North African feel, and Valetta and Gozo feel a million miles from Europe. Yet they use1950s English buses and the old style British red telephone boxes.Nearly everyone apart from theold people speak English. Then againsome peoplespeak Italian and you get a lot of Italian TV, as it's so close to Sicily. </p>
RE: English is an official language of Malta! nt Aye. Ar mates them Maltese. Helped us see off dem Germans an all that.
