First thoughts were poor pedigree, 28 yrs old, why hasn't someone picked him up before? Then when he's actually signed you start to think, well this time we might just might have got lucky...maybe. Then you see his volleyed winner in the Sofia derby and you start to look forward to his debut tomorrow with relish. But hey wait a minute this is Barnsley, he's another foreigner and the same old problem crops up, he won't get clearance in time to play. Disappointing but you think well, it's only the one match he'll be in on Saturday and at Hillsboro on Tuesday. Then the bombshell. He hasn't played competetively for 2 months and he's got hamstring problems.....ffs. Jeez, it's never been easy supporting Barnsley that's for sure.
I'm willing to give him a chance, if only I could see him fookin play! That's my point, he ain't going to be playing is he?
And so it should be .............. .......... suppose the only consolation this time around if he turns out to be ***** is we probably haven't paid a fortune for him, like we did for the others, then again .....
RE: Does mean that... Because people complain? It's not a new phenomenon by any stretch of the imagination. I'd guess it's been "part of football" since it was first played. Just more visible now.
Why. PC's the one who set the bar to judge a manager by. Top half finish, year-on year improvement. look to the play-offs, box office player, sacking a manager for not having high enough ambitionsetc.
He's set out his expectations, he's the one to judge whether they are met.

I can't see Cryne taking his bat and ball home over Davey .. .... getting criticised, like blackadder says, he's the one who has set his sights on a top half finish etc.
RE: I can't see Cryne taking his bat and ball home over Davey .. I suspect its the constant criticism of anything the club do that after a while becomes very wearing. Particularly given the amount of time, effort and money being invested in improving things. The club and Davey in particular are working within contraints that people dont seem to have any appreciation of. But yet at the first available opportunity, its negativity overload. We're punching above our weight, people need to get a reality check before its too late.
Bang on SM That is pretty much the situation as i see it. PC (if he does ever read this board) must wonder why he fecking bothers.
We're not puching above our weight I really don't know why you think so. Not only are our attendances above quite a few other sides and comparable to a few more but we also have financial backing from a benefactor. History shows that Barnsley are very much a championship side.
We are not punching above our weight no matter how many times you reiterate it, it simply isn't true. I am sick of the often uncalled for negativity but if PC gets the monk on because of a few internet moaners who are in not likely to be representative of the fans as a whole then I don't know quite what he expected.
