had british gas out twice in last 5 years has i had some water come in from behind the boilers flu into the boiler itself and now they say the flu cap at the end wants lowering so my question is why after 10 years has the water started to come in and does anyone do any work like this as BG want 200. also only happens every so often not all time so again not sure why that is either?
If you are able enough get a ladder and seal it yourself, diy shops will point you in the right direction for choice of seaslant. Dependant on the materials you are sealing, silicone will take the heat and seals everything.Hope it helps.
Dont do the work your self as you will be in contrevention of the gas regs and could get a very hefty fine. I would do the work for you mate, but i currently dont have my gas safe badge. It sounds to me like you either have a split somewhere on the flue pipe which is letting cooler air into the flue which in turn is causing condenstion to form. Ring this number ask for mick crossley he will sort you out 07947 880259. Tell him Lee passed your detail to you.
thanks pal. its the rain that gets in pal but only twice in 8 years so thats whats pissing me off but BG wount keep my service cover unless i get the work done and they want 200
