Apparently they're leading the chase for Craig Davies. We obviously can't compete with the wages that they'll be offering, so for the third season on the trot our leading scorer is about to leave in January.

But what gets my goat is why Bolton can afford to pay him more than we could. We have little, or at the very worst manageable debt. We spend within our means, which is demonstrated every transfer window and when we are trying to attract a new manager. Yet Bolton have a debt of £136m!!! And it doesn't look like they'll be going straight back up (the way that Davies has been playing recently I can't see his goals firing them to promotion!).

I think ex-Premiership clubs receive £48m over 4 years in parachute payments. Well that's not going to clear their debt is it. And yet the football league are perfectly happy for them to carry on bringing new signings in. I bet Keith Andrews didn't come cheap. Keith Hill spoke some rubbish, but he was right about this one when he questioned how come Blackburn were allowed to shell out £8m on Jordan Rhodes when the parachute money is supposed to help them with their debts carried over from the Premiership (although if they're willing to give us £8m for Davies I will take it all back).

It was a terrible shock for the football league when Pompey got themselves into all sorts of problems. Will they say the same when Bolton do? Isn't it about time the league clamped down on this? Bolton, like Bristol City and many others in our division are playing with money they don't have. It's just ridiculous. The sooner some sort of fair play rules come in the better, because there are a load of businesses and charities in Bolton at the moment that would be wise not to offer their services to Bolton Wanderers.

I don't have much love for the club anyway, because their chairman lives on another planet. A couple of years ago he proposed that relegation from and promotion to the Premiership should be abolished. We're alright Jack, pull up the ladder, or what? Tell you what Mr Gartside, with hindsight it was a jolly good idea. Let's bring it in now your in the Championship.

maybe when the premier league payout there parachute payment it should be paid direct to the clubs debtors, split between them all.

so the club been relegated doesnt actually get that money in there bank account.

You're 100% right Gordon and nothing will be done to change it because money is now what completely rules the game. Ultimately when it all goes tits up for clubs who suffers? Not the players or the football creditors, no the fans, small businesses and organisations such as St Johns are who suffer. It stinks and it has killed football but nothing is going to change.

My take on all this is simple, when a team is promoted to the premiership give them there due's all in 1 go, the job lot, however many trillion they now get. If a club/business who are playing in the richest/best league in the world can't manage there money wisely then it's tough ******* titty!

How long can teams who sit pretty in the middle of championship who haven't a massive financial budget sit back and watch clubs rewarded for getting relegated???

It's absolute lunacy.......this is what's wrong with football.

Getting promoted is a massive achievement whatever league your in and financial rewards come with it but relegation for been ***** for 10 month then still getting financially rewarded stinks.

Money is the cancer in our game, will it ever change..........NOT A CHANCE
