that raises an interesting question!!!

if you are sat in another part of the ground and you hear someone booing, what do you do?

    a) if you do nothing it appears you are condoning it.

    b) if you boo the booer it appears you are joining in with the original boo which just makes matters worse.

Hear Hear. Kid behind me is always booing, i told him to shut up or go home because he was giving me an headache.

    His words: 'Whatever you moron'

Me: 'Look here, call me a moron again and i'll throw you and your fat faced sister straight across the pitch, arsewipe'

A few minutes later, he started cheering.

The majority are either women, or people who have never played a proper game of football in their lives and don't really understand how hard it can be at times. I agree, we pay hard earned cash to sometimes watch 'rubbish' displays, but the players ARENT doing it on purpose, and booing isnt going to help at all - channel that negative energy into positives and get behind the lads.

...If we get hammered, take it out on the cat when you get in.

    RE: Weer thar frum?

I'm from Barnsley, Royston. When i said 'kid', i meant 'bloke', as in full grown man.

If it was a kid as in a small child, i'd have slapped his dad.

GOT TO AGREE................its about time we stood up to the boooers

I would like to see the WELL become booooing free
That is to say, I would like to see it made unacceptable for TARN fans to booo their own players
If fans started turning on these boring fooookers that boooo their own players we would get a better result on the field
The people that booo are holding the club back

If you don't like what you see, and I don't sometimes, then sit there and say nowt, but do NOT booo or shout abuse at your own players or team

    BUT

when someones paid up for something and THEY believe that they are not getting the goods then they have a right to complain. I personally have no axe to grind with Reid, I also liked Nicky Eaden. But they are just 2 examples of the targets. How does a fan who pays up his/her hard earned cash register a complaint ( I am not condoning or condemming Booing ) they could phone in to praise or grumble or such media, write to the chronicle. But will the complaint be heard or read, maybe not. The booing from the terrace is the age old way of registering displeasure at unacceptable performances.Ask any comedian/singer/showbiz person and they will tell you that its part and parcel of the trade. As it is in football.I have been bollocked for not performing in my job, did I bairn about it, NO.I put the effort in AND GOT MY BLOODY ACT TOGETHER.LIFE IS **** THEN YOU DIE.So to any player who cannot take a bit of stick a bit of criticism I say "go down the job center and come into the real world with the rest of us" they will see what hard work is really like then.

Even if you accept booing for a bad performance, it's rather different to booing a player when his name is announced prior to the game. I can't think what people are looking to achieve, it's surely going to be a lift to the opposition if they hear the home fans on the players back even before a ball has been kicked.

To use your analogy of getting criticism at work...did they carry that forward and the moment you'd walked into work one morning somebody had a go at you for generally being rubbish rather than any specific incidence?

Not enough fans at Darlo game to boo!

How could anyone be booed in an empty stadium? Not heard that much criticism of Reid. Think it was the letter in Chronicle having a go at him that started it. Which I thought was nonsense.

Once went to Birmingham City, years ago...

The home fans booed every Birmingham player as the team was announced, then booed like mad as the team took the field. Never seen anything like it before or since.

Barnsley won 5-3 and Birmingham were totally /poo . Maybe the booing undermined their confidence so much and that's why they lost. some of you will have been there.

By all means show disapproval at poor play, and particularly when there's no effort or committment, but at least wait until the game is over rather than doing it before the game starts.

No. Someone at work went though and said it was awesome despite dumping their car and walking 16 miles to get there!

    If you want to complain........................

Then complain on here (I have even been known to do this) or complain in the pub, when you meet someone on the street, write to the club or the Chronny...............but do NOT ever ever boooo OUR players or team inside the WELL

EVER !!! (NOOO) (NOOO) (NOOO) (NOOO) (NOOO) (NOOO)

Booing fans have a right to show their frustrations on players. If a player doesn't like it when being booed, then he should go find another profession.

People pay good money to watch football, and expect to see committment from a player.

Now Reidy either rolls his sleeves up and prove people wrong, or he rolls over, in which case he should go find another way to pay the bills.

You must be what 6' 5" 19 Stone plus with talk like that :D

The most appalling example i've seen of booing our own players was when Chopra got booed for fooking scoring. Disgraceful

no, but I had to look a disgruntled boss in the eye and explain.has he done that to any one fan.

no thought not, and stop splitting hairs , you knew full well the point that as being made. Under achieve in any chosen field and expect criticism.Lifes like that.Or are you so bloody perfect then.
