Now we have had a significant boost to the clubs finances, will the club now open talks with Luke Steele regarding a new contract, or are they still going to use the excuse of not knowing what division we are going to be in next season to delay the talks furthermore?

Steele tells me talks will progress on a new deal now that the transfer window is complete. He sees his future only at Oakwell #BarnsleyFC

Luke Steele very firm that he wants to stay at #BarnsleyFC. Not interested in moving. Doesnt want to wait and see what summer options he has

I can't see how we can offer him a contract at the moment unless it includes a clause to significantly reduce his wages if we get relegated. We can't afford Steele in League One on his current wages.

Fair play to the lad though, i would imagine he would have plenty of takers. Quality keeper.
