I find it so disappointing to see every sunday certain barnsley players round town drinking when we av such a important few weeks ahead. Why do it. Simon davey cut out the booze before and the players stopped. It now seems to be starting again and is this a coincidence with our recent slump.

Think all the players have strict guidelines and they are tested on a regular basis. Davey bans them going to bars / clubs 72 hours before a game INCLUDING Reserve fixtures.
Think it is all about trust. If they are out having a few drinks then can't see any issue. Getting hammered on large volumes then you can question it.

I couldn't comment mate because never seen them in a state. But normally they have a Monday off training unless playing midweek. Davey can't see it too much of a problem.

unfortunately footballs changed alot since taggart was playing. u cud get away with it in those days and it was accepted. I just want my team to be in tip top condition for our relegation scrap and not be seen legless in town.

remember most of the first team being in the post ofice pub at haigh the tuesday before we played bolton on the wednesday when we were in the premier league! we then saw darren sheridan in town after this! so nothing new here then, just reveals a great deal about the professionalism of many players, or rather the lack of.

So when are players allowed to take social time?? Next game was 6 days away, and more than likely had Monday off training.
