What did you want to be when you grew up and what did you wind up doing? I always wanted to be an architect, wound up working for an ambulance service.
I changed my mind so often growing up I can't actually remember a main aspiration but I ended up being a soldier and then a project manager, which I am still doing.
I also wanted to be an architect but work experience at the architects department at BMBC, drawing windows on council houses soon dampened that idea. It's not all flashy concept buildings. So I became an engineer. Now my life is full of joy. The glamour, the girls, the glitz. All things not associated with engineering. The calculations, the work instructions, the project managers (sorry MarioKempes). We get work experience lads in from time to time so now it's my turn to corrupt developing minds.
Footballer(obviously) I also wanted to join the Fire Service, which I have recently applied for. I currently have the title of "Service centre technician"
I wanted to be a footballer. Went to college to do media. Currently a Logistics Operative (I work in a warehouse doing the bare minimum).
Professional footballer/guitarist/film director. Actually, I still want to be all those things. I ended up being a nob head.
First of all, I wanted to be the pilot of Thunderbird 2. Then I wanted to be an astronaut. Later on, I wanted to have Granville's job on Open All Hours. I ended up being a Payroll Manager. Now I want to be an archaeologist. As yet, I haven't managed to grow up and doubt I ever will.
When I was 9 I decided I decided I wanted to be an electronic engineer. 49 years later I've just stopped being one.
Another one who wanted to be an architect, but the lack of artist talent was probably an hinderance. Currently in IT support, but looking for a move into infrastructure design and eventually architecture of a different kind...
I ranged from being a copper, to a physiotherapist, back to a copper, to a football coach, back to a copper then a football coach again lol
I wanted to be a Civil Engineer but couldn't use a slide rule. If only calculators had been readily available a few years earlier...
Infantry Officer. Then I discovered beer. Now in theory I am a software engineer, in practise I surf the web all day.
Always wanted to be in a band. Did a few tours with Shed 7, Dodgy, Longpigs, Pele as support... nearly but no cigar. Had a record shop for 10 years. Ended up as most failed musicians as a DJ. Don't earn a whole lot of money, but I enjoy every day... even when BFC are playing.
Change a lot when young but come Uni time wanted to do Journalism. Didn't end up taking that course but did some media studies at Uni to try and get into Sports Journalism. One mate in my class went that way and one went into working for Sky Sports doing their football clips. The former is Natalie Sawyer.
