..... don't get carried away with any performances in frendlies so far - theres a huge load of negativity on here based on performances in TOTALLY meaningless games. There's no way as a footballer I'd risk an injury at this stage of the season, and any player who gives 100% in a friendly is a mug. They are there to remind players what running about for 90 mins is all about - when it comes to the crunch on saturday things will be different, it will actually mean something then. So, can we all take a deep breath, stop talking about relegation, get behind the new look side and hope it goes well for them instead of writing them off before a ball has been kicked. Rant over, back to work - lol
Hopefully davey was just testing the long ball to see if it would work (obviously he didnt see enough of it in his 6 months in charge last season) and he'll have now realised it doesn't.
I am looking forward to some more football this season.</p> I would have thought it was easier to get a team playing football rather than lumping it due to the amount of luck required for the long ball to work.</p>
