    Really hope they drop Bamford, Clayton, Leadbitter and Friend. If so, we've a great chance.

    I'd expect them to beat us comfortably whoever they select. But if/when they do, I hope the reaction on here reflects those expectations...

    Impact player. Very talented, great shot on him. Used to annoy me how he was overlooked with Jacob at Boro. Definitely a threat if he plays.

    Theoretically, Boro are a better side than REDS.

    But, this is a one-off Cup game.......ask Liverpool, ask Chelsea.

    So whoever Boro select you would expect them to beat us comfortably?

    Well what great expectations you have.

    A team one division higher - the division we were in last season. The division we aspire to play in.

    Then if they play their second team and we get beaten, our reaction should be to expect to indeed get beaten.

    Even if we put our best team out.

    I hope the general fan base aren't as happy with such limited ambition. Some of us expect a bit more.

    It's Middlesborough. Not Real Madrid ffs.

    I'd also expect them to best us quite comfortably. They are one of the better teams in their division we are middle of the road a division below. Of course we have a chance it's just a small one.

    We've been playing generally $hit all season, and we're without key players. They're flying in a division above us, with a squad worth millions. Course they're expected to beat us. Obviously we're all hoping for an upset - otherwise we wouldn't be going. But you have to say on paper, it's quite possible we'll get stuffed

    Well put.

    Boro lot I've spoken to don't like the draw and would not be sorry to go out.

    See us as under achievers who will be up for it and an unhappy recent venue for them.

    They are also used to making good starts, flattering to deceive and falling away dramatically in second half of season.

    Looks likely they will rest some first choice and hope to have enough in reserve.

    We should be all over this and not resigning ourselves to inevitable defeat to a Smoggy second team.
