4,687 full allocation was sold out by last Saturday morning..... https://www.mfc.co.uk/news/additional-barnsley-allocation-sold-out An early goal will keep them quiet. Their fans will expect us to be turned over easily. The longer we are in the game, the more the away fans will get worked up at the players.
Poya stated that we need to keep going for 90 minutes, and I agree. Again, the second half was not a patch on the first. I'm not saying I was overly worried, but I'm happy we'd already scored.
With this team of players Barnsley should be winning every match. I know that's a strange thing to say but it is exactly what Val said the attitude should be.
Came from 1 0 down to beat WBA last night. A win against them really would show belief and fight. COYRs!
Every game obviously important from now on but I reckon game against Boro will determine whether we have a chance or not of survival......would love 3 points and we need to go for it. A draw however would not be end of the world and keep the momentum and belief for rest of season.......need to avoid defeat for confidence purposes though.
I agree we're missing Mowatt from last season. These players are capable of going on a run and getting out of this.
Hopefully we're able to name an unchanged side, and set out to put pressure on their defence, like we did last night. Boro are a good team, so my fear is that Poya will try to set them up to sit off and defend again.
We don't know how well Boro will play. We don't know how much of QPR's performance was because of our performance.
We clung on against a dire QPR side. 3 points taken, but was still unconvincing. Coventry we reverted to type. Terrible. Last night was as good as it gets, no complaints from me. Hull were poor. You can only beat what's in front of you. And we did. Well. So 2 from 3, given the season we have had is not to be sniffed at. Those results give us an outside chance. But ....... The next 5 games ain't easy. Far from it. It's almost on a par with the last five under Struber for Great Escape II. Boro are flying under a gaffer we'd have all loved. 3 points off them and I might just start believing again.
A win against a poor QPR side & an absolutely dire Hull side last night doesn’t detract from the fact that we have been absolutely shambolic all season. Are you forgetting the Coventry performance in between those two games? I hope we beat Boro obviously, but realistically it’s unlikely to happen.
