Only one club ever relegated at Boro.

    I'll hold onto that.

Most Affected: Tony Mowbray, dropped to accommodate Kevin Beattie in 1982; his last game for Boro, and last of his career were both against Barnsley. And so was his last as a manager.

Interesting fact that, and one that had not clicked before.
He ended his Boro playing career against us
He ended his playing career for Ipswich, at Wembley, against us
He ended his managerial career for Boro, this season against us

Quite entertaining. As noted by previous poster, encouraging to hear that no visiting team's ever been relegated at the Riverside.

On the other hand, I seem to recall that The Reds 1-0 victory in May 1990 was last match of the season and everyone in the ground thought we'd made the play-offs for the first time ever - only for the announcer to come over the tannoy about five minutes after the game finished, and cheering started, with the news that Brighton had equalised in their game and pushed out of the final play-off position. Hope to Christ we don't get a win on Saturday, think we're still in it and then discover late bad news !
