What a fantastic day, my lad was one of the mascots and had been really excited to have the chance to meet the players and be on the pitch. A big shout out to the club, they really look after the kids on the day and the players were great with them, nothing was too much trouble. Even Hammill gave up some of his time to entertain the kids. The result helped make it an experience that will live long in memory especially for my lad.

The game itself was entertaining and although not entirely one sided as the score would suggest, I feel the right result. We should be proud of the team that we have, the effort and commitment by the group of young men is second to none, in my 40 years of watching the Reds. The amount of mileage they go through, the support they show each other is a credit to themselves and the manager; a manager who is one of our own but one that always gives a fair appraisal after a game, win lose or draw (refreshing to hear). We will have a few games where they under perform but I am convinced that this will not be through a lack of effort and willingness. 2016 is the best year I have experienced as a Red, even better than 1997. Lets enjoy it and bring on 2017!!!!

Glad your lad enjoyed it and let`s hope that he`s a Red for life now.
